Wijntje on not being the only one
Wijntje started taking drugs at work, initially only at the weekends, but by the end she had become deeply entangled in the drugs world, unable to quit. It was only after fighting for her life on being hospitalised twice, that she finally admitted to herself that she needed help.
Having overcome drug addiction, Wijntje is now a very active member of narcotics anonymous. In her professional life, she is the project leader for a firm of architects. She also runs her own employment agency, which helps people in recovery to find work again.
“You learn from others… You try to be open again to other people's suggestions and experiences. So you can learn from them. That's what was so great about staying at the clinic. I realised I really wasn't the only one.
