Whether you are are looking for alcohol, gambling or drug addiction help for yourself or someone close to you, Triora supports the partners, family and loved ones of people suffering from substance abuse and addictive behaviour.
Addiction puts a severe strain on relationships. When experienced over a prolonged period of time, the resulting tensions and problems can even lead to psychological or physical problems for those close to the addicted person. We provide professional and confidential family addiction support to partners, family members and friends of people with an addiction.
How can Triora help families?
An exploratory relationship and family interview can be conducted before or during treatment, either face-to-face at Triora's private rehabilitation centres in Spain, or online for outpatients. If necessary or desired, the patient’s partner and/or other family members or loved ones can be present at the initial interview. Patient and family can then decide whether they would also like to participate in family counselling.
Family and relationship counselling
Family and relationship counselling helps all those involved to better understand relationship dynamics, and to talk through sensitive matters that may otherwise be difficult to approach. By working with the patient, relations and loved ones, we identify solutions to help successfully address tensions and problems. Sessions can be held with both patients and family members, or individually.
Relationship and family counselling is included in our addiction treatment programme for patients admitted to our clinics, and as part of our outpatient care (in person or via videoconferencing). We do recommend these sessions: patients who follow family counselling are more likely to remain abstinent, since relatives and friends are an important support in the recovery process.
