Triora provides substance abuse treatment to people who need addiction help to stop with alcohol or drugs (including cocaine and cannabis). We also treat people suffering from addictive behaviour such as gaming or gambling.
The addiction treatment offered at our private rehabilitation centres in Alicante and Malaga, Spain, lasts from 8 weeks. Patients usually have their own private room. Our recovery clinics are situated in pleasant surroundings and have a swimming pool and other sports facilities. Our restaurants serve an attractive, healthy menu.
Our residential addiction recovery programme can be started on any day of the week and is open to adults, both men and women, who can afford our private care. In general, our patients are adults with an income, home and social network. Our patients are capable of self-reflection and are willing and committed to changing their lives for the better. Treatment by our professional staff can be provided in English or Spanish.
Outpatient treatment is also available.
Five steps to addiction recovery
Admission – addiction is the disease that tells people that they do not have a problem. The first step is therefore accepting that you have an addiction and that you need help to overcome it. During your first consultation, which is free and non-binding, we discuss your needs and how we can help you. We then assess whether and how we can best help you and notify you of our recommendations.
Detox treatment - you must be clean and sober before treatment commences. As it can be dangerous to stop using alcohol or drugs suddenly, medical supervision is always necessary. If detoxification takes place at our clinic, your stay may extend beyond the standard duration of 8 weeks.
Treatment – crucial for this step is accepting the help offered, in order to go through your own transformation process. With an individually tailored programme based on the Triora model, we help you to develop greater self-insight, practise new behaviour and to become familiar with self-help. You have the option of involving your partner, family or relatives in your recovery process.
Going home - if you choose our residential addiction care, after 8 weeks you will return home to your own environment where you can implement what you have learnt during your stay.
A typical day at Triora Alicante
Personally tailored programmes are based on a fixed schedule with individual sessions and group meetings. Generally, the schedule is the same every week, though the subjects covered will of course change from week to week. These include rational emotive and therapy, social skills training and relapse prevention. Find out more about what is included. A similar schedule is follwed at Triora MonteAlminara near Malaga.
9 am – 5 pm: individual and general group sessions
5 - 7 pm: special group sessions
Evening: self-help groups
- Personal counselling - your personal counsellor will help you prepare your treatment plan, including your personal treatment objectives. Your counsellor will help you throughout the treatment process.
- Psychologist and psychiatrist – at the start of the treatment, all patients meet with a psychologist to establish whether there is a need for psychological guidance. Individual consultations then take place twice a week. An additional appointment with our psychiatrist takes place once a week.
- Relationship and family counselling - alongside sessions with your programme counsellor, we can provide relationship and family counselling.
Although you have your own private accommodation, treatment at the clinic is strongly group-oriented. By discovering that others have experienced similar problems you learn that you are not alone - many patients say they learn most from each other.
Self-help is a major element of the Triora treatment. You will be introduced to the self-help philosophy and methodology and you will be included in a worldwide anonymous network of people who have had similar experiences. It is a support network for when you return to your family, social and working life, after treatment.
During your participation in the self-help groups at the Triora clinic you will also work with a ‘sponsor’. A sponsor is someone who is further advanced in the treatment programme and with whom you feel comfortable. You can discuss things with your sponsor that you may find too personal to share with the entire group. However, the main role of your sponsor is to help you through the programme during your treatment and also once you return home.
New online portal
Patients can also benefit from our new online portal on Karify which includes treatment modules and an online library with extensive training materials and videos.
